I thought I could put my weekend into one post. So sad how there are only two days in the weekend!
We moved house so I didn’t get my 1-2 mile walks in – but I think the cleaning and packing almost made up for it! I was supposed to walk on Sat and Sun but didn’t quite make it. Never mind, this week I’ll make up for it!
I’ll just post what I ate:
Sat
Breakfast was a quarter pineapple and an orange. During the day we snacked on nuts and for lunch was tomato and potato soup with a bit of cheese and a drink of soda water with a splash of grape juice.
For dinner I cheated and got two packets of Uncle Ben’s instant rice – its quite good because there doesn’t seem to be any ‘bad’ stuff in it – you just chuck it in the microwave for 2 mins and its done! We had tomato and basil, and egg fried rice. I put some cashews in with the egg fried rice and cut up some cucumber, avocado, tomato and bell pepper. It was nice and simple – oh and we had some rice crackers with. So that was all good – but then we went to a farewell where the host had made some delicious dips – a fresh hummus and a tzatziki. And with it were cut up veges and some chips. I snacked all evening! So good – but a bit naughty too. At least it wasn’t pizza.
Sunday
Breakfast was again, a quarter pineapple – thats it. We kept packing and only had a mandarin in between until about 3.30 when we sat down for some Salada crackers with chicken, an authentic Dutch mayo, gerkhins, pickled onions and cheese. So yum – but we did have a bit too much. After we finished unpacking, we made our specialty – iced coffees. One day I’ll post the recipe on here. It tastes naughty but its actually pretty healthy. Dinner on Sunday was tomato soup and bread. Nice and simple! Followed by a snack of bhuja mix and raw almonds.
We had intended to go out for lunch to an Italian restaurant for some lasagne as it was pouring with rain and we just felt like some comfort food – we were both really looking forward to it but when we got there it was closed. So disappointing! Another time though..
So yeah, my weekend wasn’t all bad. I quite enjoyed it and felt even better now that I look back and realise my diet wasn’t quite as bad as I thought!
