I dont think I have made any progress so far. It is quite disappointing really. I feel just as heavy, as flabby, as ‘blergh’ as I did before. Sometimes I wish there was just a quick an easy fix to instant healthiness and top shape! But – I was reading Ori Hofmekler’s new book: Maximum muscle, minimum fat – and he’s basically saying those who advocate a quick and easy way of getting fit and in shape are selling a load of rubbish. There is no way to attain peak physical fitness very very quickly unless you are almost there already.
I guess it is something I’m learning. Very slowly. Re-learning. Funny how things flee from your mind…
So yeah, I’m feeling blue, like I’m not making any progress… which may be true. And if I stop now, then I WONT make any progress. Three weeks is not a very long time really… especially after six months of not doing anything! But – I am lifting more. This time three weeks ago I probably could barely lift the kettlbells twice. Now, today, I did 6 full double KB clean and presses. So maybe I AM improving.
Anyway – enough about my moaning! A lean hard body is going to take hard work – lots of it.
Breakfast – you guessed it – a smoothie
During the day I ate a boiled egg after workout, and nibbled on an apple, a small sausage, another boiled egg and not a lot else.
Dinner was a whole collection of things: leftovers from Sunday, mashed potato, green salad, garlic bread, steamed broccoli and pumpkin, and chicken. I made a gluten free fruit pie for dessert. It would have been amazing but it was left on the stove element and burned the tin – so it had a sort of carbon flavor. Not too nice! I put apples, peaches, and raspberries in the filling with a bit of maple syrup, nutmeg and cinnamon. And I added some pumpkin and sunflower seeds. Like I said, it would have been great if it didnt have that burnt flavor.
And I worked out today. Despite a killer sore throat I got up to my cold attic and did a full workout. I lifted above and beyond the requirements and felt great. I reckon I”ll be sore tomorrow. Thanks Mike Mahler for your kettlebell routines!
