Two Month Blitz

by Elliot Wilson on June 22, 2008

Elliot and I have decided to do a 2 month diet & fitness blitz.  Daily updates can get a bit messy on blogs, so we will be tracking our progress on a daily basis but we’re only going to update this blog once a week with the important information.  No-one wants to read drivel right?

So yeah, I did a 3 week blitz a while back.  Looking back, 3 weeks is such a short time! But when you’re posting everyday then it does kinda stretch out and feel like a huge amount of time.

Right now I’m in a place where I’m comfortable. Comfortable isn’t wrong but it can be dangerous. I want to be in a place where I’m constantly having to work. I think life would be boring without working out! But the real reason is that we’re going on a rather big trip in 2 months time and during that time we won’t be able to eat as healthily as (we try to) now. So we’re going to have to go 5 steps forward, and expect to go 4 steps back. I don’t want to go 4 steps back, but sometimes if you expect the worst, then to discover you’ve only gone 2 steps back is encouraging! I learnt a lot back when I did my 3 week blitz - but this time around I’m going to use all that knowledge and make a real good start from the get go. Its a cooler rainy season here at the moment - but I prefer working out in cooler weather. I can’t wait to really get into my kettlebells again and I also really want to get into some more serious running.

I’m speaking for Elliot here so I hope this is correct… we measured our body fat % yesterday and his seemed to be really low - which is good! However, he doesn’t have the definition as yet that he is after. So his goals and mine are slightly different. He is aiming to build muscle and get awesome definition and I’m aiming to lower my body fat % and be able to lift heavier weights among many other things!

So today is our day one - week one, month one. I can’t really analyze it yet as we’re really only a few hours in - but hopefully we are on the road to transforming ourselves. We want to feel better, to have more strength and be more healthy as well as the other goals mentioned earlier. There are heaps of things that I want to change/improve - but the underlying goal is to be fit and healthy and able to tackle life headon! And to have a six-pack.

So join us in our little journey. We’ll post up a before photo shortly and our stats (when we locate all our data!) and hope you’ll have as much fun as us in the days to come. We also hope to inspire you to do the same and to start now, today, towards a better healthier you.  Two months here we come!
