Progress photo towards six-pack abs

Weight: 65kg
Height: 6′3″
Body fat percentage: 10.8%
Goal: To get six-pack abs!

Just under six months ago I took a photo of myself just after I’d decided to set the goal for myself of getting six-pack abs.  Obviously the plan was to show progress photos more frequently but (trust me on this) finding the time to set aside and actually take the photos is easier said that done!

Two big changes have taken place since January this year;

1. Body fat percentage has fallen to 10.8%!

This was essentially my goal (the 10% mark) and I’m happy to say that the correct dieting methods have proven to work.  Losing nearly 6% body fat is no easy feat!

2. My weight has dropped by about 11kg.

That’s about 14% my original weigh-in of 76kg.  Unfortunately for me that is bad news as I was fairly ’scrawny’ for my height to begin with.

Does this mean you can’t have the best of both worlds, as in, you can’t lose fat and gain muscle at the same time?  No I still think that’s possible and should be our aim, but it’s definitely easier to focus on one at a time.

What next?  Well I don’t feel I can say I have six-pack abs yet so the goal is still to get there before I come up with new goals.  These next couple of months I’m going to focus on building muscle so that my stomach muscles will protrude and become more visible.

I’ve set myself the deadline of August this year to get to my goal of a six-pack.  So don’t go anywhere, stick around and see how I finish!
